Gary Debarbieri

Gary DeBarbieri

Gary developed an interest in the field of physical therapy during his undergraduate program at Virginia Tech University, while volunteering as a student athletic trainer to university sport teams. Gary went on to graduate with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from New York Institute of Technology in 2012.

Following graduation, he continued his interest in the field of orthopedic and sports physical therapy, working in a variety of orthopedic outpatient clinics, gaining experience, tools and treatment methods along the way. Gary prefers to address patient care with a hands on approach, supplementing the manual treatment and techniques with specific therapeutic exercises to produce optimal improvement of impairments and reduction of pain.

Gary has furthered his education with continued course work since graduation. He is most interested in Robin Mckenzie’s treatment approach, now referred to as “Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment.” Since pursuing this treatment approach, he has seen a significant decrease in recovery time for clients experiencing neck and back pain.

In his free time, Gary enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, mountain biking and is looking to get back into skiing. It is his personal goal to help all patients return to the activities they enjoy, big or small.

Fun Fact

He has lived in 4 states, each longer than 3 years.
